Pengaruh PENGARUH INTEGRASI ILMU FALAK DALAM KURIKULUM TERHADAP KOMPETENSI SPASIAL-SYAR’I MAHASISWA TEKNIK DI UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MAKASSAR

This study aims to examine the influence of integrating Ilmu Falak into the engineering curriculum on the development of spatial-shar’i competence among students of architecture and civil engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. This research employs a quantitative explanatory design involving 120 undergraduate students from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Data were collected using structured questionnaires with a Likert scale and analyzed through descriptive statistics and simple linear regression using SPSS. The independent variable is the degree of Falak integration in the curriculum, while the dependent variable is the students’ spatial-shar’i competence, which includes their ability to determine the qibla direction and apply Islamic astronomical principles in technical design. Findings reveal a significant and positive correlation (r = 0.684, p < 0.01) between the integration of Ilmu Falak in the curriculum and the spatial-shar’i competence of engineering students. Regression analysis confirms that curriculum integration accounts for 46.8% of the variance in students' competence scores. Respondents who reported stronger exposure to practical falakiyah training (e.g., qibla measurement using Istiwaaini and GIS tools) demonstrated higher levels of religious-spatial awareness and application in design assignments.
