Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify problems in the application of Tafsir methods and materials – Tafsir Science in Formal Diniyah Education (PDF) at Ulya Al-Junaidiyah Biru, Bone Regency. This research is a field study that focuses on research results that are relevant to the situation and conditions in the field, using observation and interviews with subject teachers and students as data sources. The results of this study explain that the methods used are the ijmali method of interpretation in the book Tafsir Al-Jalalain and the tahlili method in the book Syarah Ḥāsyiyah al-Ṣāwī ‘alā al-Jalālain, and the interpretation materials are in accordance with the contents of these books. The materials of the Science of Interpretation include the first and last verses revealed, the names of the surahs in the -Qur'an, the compilation of the Qur'an, waqaf and ibtida', fawātiḥ al-suwar, 'ām and khāṣ, the transmission of the Qur'an, qawā'id al-tafsīr, ḍamīr, nakīrah and ma'rīfah, mu'annaṡ and mużakkar. The application of these methods and materials can be seen through the learning process in the classroom. It begins with an opening greeting and the selection of materials by the teacher/ustadz. In applying the teaching materials, the teacher/ustadz uses a lugawi, tauhid, and qira'ah approach. Then, the problems in applying the methods and materials of Tafsir - Ilm al-Tafsir can be seen from two sides, namely the internal side which includes achievements that are too high and a little discussion of the material, and the external side which includes limited learning time, massive teacher turnover, and the level of focus of the students who are the main objects in learning tafsir-ilm al-tafsir.
