Strategi Perpustakaan Digital Institut Teknologi Sawit Indonesia Medan dalam Meningkatkan Minat Baca Mahasiswa

This study aims to examine the strategic initiatives implemented by the Digital Library of Institut Teknologi Sawit Indonesia (ITSI) Medan in enhancing students' reading interest in the digital age. As digital transformation increasingly influences academic behavior, identifying effective library strategies is essential to cultivating a strong reading culture. The research adopted a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Key informants included librarians, faculty members, and students who regularly utilized digital library services. Data analysis was conducted thematically to uncover patterns and strategies applied by the library. The results reveal that ITSI's Digital Library employed various strategic measures, such as developing user-friendly digital platforms, enabling mobile access to e-resources, integrating systems with academic portals, and conducting digital literacy workshops. These initiatives significantly improved student interaction with reading materials. Promotional efforts via social media and the provision of personalized reading recommendations also played a role in sustaining students’ interest. Despite these successes, challenges remain, particularly related to limited internet access and the uneven levels of digital literacy among students. In conclusion, ITSI Medan’s Digital Library has effectively promoted reading interest through innovative strategies. Future developments should focus on strengthening digital infrastructure and addressing digital inequality to ensure inclusive access and long-term impact.
