KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MODEL PISA: ANALISIS BERDASARKAN TINGKAT ADVERSITY QUOTIENT (AQ)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan Adversity Quotient (AQ) pada peserta didik. Penalaran matematis merupakan kemampuan penting dalam pendidikan modern yang memungkinkan peserta didik melaksanakan pengambilan Keputusan secara logis berdasarkan informasi yang ada dalam kehidupan sehari - hari. Sementara itu, Adversity Quotient mewakili kemampuan seseorang dalam menghadapi dan mengatasi rintangan. Studi ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif terhadap subjek penelitian yang berjumlah 36 peserta didik di kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket Adversity Response Profile (ARP), tes tertulis mengenai kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian. Analisis terhadap data menggunakan reduksi data dari hasil tes tertulis dan wawancara, penyajian data hasil analisis dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Kemudian dianalisis menggunakan triangulasi sumber yang berdasar pada proses dalam penalaran matematis yaitu submit a conjecture, mathematical manipulation dan drawing logical conclusion. Dari hasil temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat Adversity Quotient yang tinggi berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis. Peserta didik tipe climber dan camper memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis yang baik, kedua tipe ini telah dapat melaksanakan submit a conjecture, mathematical manipulation dan drawing logical conclusion. Meskipun dalam prosesnya peserta didik tipe camper terkadang mengalami kesalahan dalam memahami informasi yang ada. Sebaliknya, peserta didik tipe quitter memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis yang tergolong rendah, ditandai dengan kesalahan dalam memahami informasi yang ada sehingga menghambat proses pemecahan masalah
