Anomalous Scientific Foundations: Research and Development (R&D) Model Synthesis Practices in Indonesian Doctoral Dissertations

Sintesis model Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) dalam disertasi doktoral di Indonesia semakin lazim. Penelitian ini menyelidiki proses ilmiah yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa doktoral dalam merumuskan dan mengimplementasikan sintesis tersebut, serta mengeksplorasi tantangan konseptual dan teknis yang mereka hadapi. Dengan menggunakan desain metode campuran konkuren, data dikumpulkan melalui survei daring yang terdiri dari pertanyaan terbuka dan tertutup. Sebanyak 51 tanggapan yang memenuhi syarat dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis kualitatif tematik. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa semua mahasiswa menggunakan model R&D sintesis dalam disertasi mereka tanpa landasan ilmiah yang memadai. Ketidakcukupan ini ditandai dengan tidak adanya landasan filosofis, kurangnya validasi pakar, ketidakselarasan dengan paradigma penelitian, dan tidak dilakukannya pengujian pendahuluan—sehingga menghasilkan justifikasi metodologis yang lemah. Tantangan utama yang teridentifikasi meliputi pemahaman terbatas tentang landasan filosofis, kesulitan dalam mengintegrasikan struktur dan tahapan model, dan ketergantungan berlebihan pada bimbingan pengawasan informal. Praktik-praktik ini berkontribusi terhadap degradasi epistemologis, yang menimbulkan ancaman signifikan terhadap integritas tradisi penelitian perkembangan. Implikasi yang paling mendesak adalah reformulasi sistem supervisi doktoral, penyempurnaan kurikulum metodologis, dan pengembangan pedoman berbasis bukti. Studi ini merekomendasikan prioritas penggunaan model R&D tunggal yang tervalidasi secara ketat untuk memastikan koherensi metodologis dan menjunjung tinggi kredibilitas akademis.
