Analisis dampak perilaku sterilisasi terhadap kesehatan kucing betina domestik (Felis domesticus) di Puskeswan Makassar

Kucing (Felis domesticus) adalah hewan karnivora yang tersebar luas berkat kemampuannya beradaptasi. Namun, populasi kucing yang terus meningkat menjadi masalah, terutama di perkotaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses sterilisasi pada kucing betina serta untuk mengidentifikasi manfaat yang diperoleh setelah sterilisasi dilakukan pada kucing betina. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Penelitian ini lebih berfokus pada data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari wawancara, observasi langsung, serta dokumentasi. Berdasarkan pengamatan terhadap lima kucing betina yang disterilkan, sterilisasi terbukti berdampak positif pada perubahan perilaku. Sebelum disterilkan, kucing cenderung gelisah, agresif, aktif berlebihan, dan berkeliaran. Setelah sterilisasi, kucing menjadi lebih tenang, jinak, dan banyak beristirahat. Prosedur ini efektif mengurangi kecemasan, agresivitas, dan hiperaktivitas, sehingga meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka.
