Abstrak

Artikel ini mengkaji ulang kerangka konstruktivis Alexander Wendt mengenai identitas dan perilaku negara dalam sistem internasional yang anarkis. Wendt menekankan bahwa anarki merupakan konstruksi sosial, dan identitas serta kepentingan membentuk tindakan negara. Namun, kerangka ini masih terbatas, khususnya dalam menjelaskan proses terbentuknya identitas dari masyarakat ke negara, serta peran kognisi dan deliberasi negara yang kurang meyakinkan karena sejatinya dimiliki individu. Dengan merujuk pada pemikiran Bruce Cronin, konsep social choice Oran Young, pembedaan identitas sosial dan korporat oleh Maja Zehfuss, serta kritik Copeland dan Boulding terhadap interpretasi intensi, artikel ini menyoroti kompleksitas yang kerap diabaikan Wendt. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa memperkaya kerangka Wendt melalui perspektif tambahan memungkinkan pemahaman identitas sebagai faktor utama dalam membentuk intensi, interaksi, dan makna anarki secara lebih meyakinkan, sekaligus memperkuat relevansi konstruktivisme dalam studi hubungan internasional.
